Summer is a great time for family picnics during National Picnic Week (11-19 June) but they can be blighted by sneezing, runny eyes and itchy skin if there’s a hay fever sufferer in the family.
Head down to your local GP Practice to find out how they are celebrating PPG Awareness Week. The Practice may be treating you to a coffee morning or afternoon tea party.
As a Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) we are challenging practices to hold a coffee morning or afternoon tea during this week in order to promote the role and benefits of PPGs to patients, the public and health professionals, to create more understanding of the value of true patient participation in general practice. We are passionate about putting the patient at the heart of everything that we do, we are excited about this week and this will be a great opportunity to share our PPG Toolkit, which will support practices with the growth and development of their PPGs.
In Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull, people recruited on to the new programme tackling Type 2 diabetes will benefit from a partnership between Health Exchange CIC and Westbank Community Health and Care, collectively known as known as Living Well Taking Control LLP, to help them make healthier lifestyle choices and reduce their risk of developing the disease.
With the unpredictable mix of ‘British’ weather so far, it’s all too easy to forget that summer’s almost here. So, to tie in with Sun Awareness Week (9 – 16 May), NHS health experts are offering safety advice to the public to keep them safe in the sun.
