Areas around England may experience “heatwave” conditions over the next few days, according to Met Office forecasts. Affected areas include the West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England, South East England and London.
Warnings that a heatwave may be imminent are triggered when the Met Office forecasts that there is a 60% chance of temperatures being high enough on at least two consecutive days and the intervening night to have a significant effect on health.
Stay cool this Summer
Hot weather is not always good news. For some people, hot weather can result in serious illness. We want to help people to stay cool and keep well this Summer, and are encouraging everyone to follow some simple steps.
Seven women and their young daughters from Sandwell and West Birmingham’s health services commissioner joined the fight to beat cancer at Himley Hall’s Race for Life.
The group from Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group, which is led by local doctors and nurses and funds health services for the area, took part in the annual event to raise money for charity Cancer Research UK.
They joined hundreds of other women to run, walk or dance five kilometres around Himley Hall.
