Commissioning Strategy for Carers 2006-11 (1).pdf
The Commissioning Strategy for Carers 2006-11, is a statement of how services will be designed and delivered to carers across Birmingham over the next five years. Every year, there is a turnover of 2 million carers in the UK. New carers require access to information and a range of support services to aid them in their caring role. At the same time, many cease to be carers and find it difficult to find employment or training opportunities, particularly if they have been out of the labour market for an extended period of time. A key principle of this strategy therefore will be to plan for services that provide quality information and support that is equitable for all carers at all stages of their caring lives.
