Be Clear on Cancer - Tummy troubles

Text size:
As part of the national Public Health England campaign, ‘Be clear on cancer’, we are urging all local patients who experience any ‘tummy troubles’ such as

  • diarrhoea
  • bloating
  • discomfort in the tummy area

to get checked out by your GP if the symptoms have been on-going for 3 weeks or more.  These symptoms can be signs of a number of cancers, such as bowel, ovarian or pancreatic.

Some people who suffer ‘tummy troubles’ can sometimes be reluctant to visit their GP for a variety of reasons.  GPs are trained professionals and deal with all kinds of symptoms every day.

Don’t put off going to see your GP for any slight problems as finding cancer early makes it more treatable.
