People living in Sandwell and West Birmingham have been invited to see local NHS decision-making in action at a meeting in Cradley Health.

The next meeting of our Governing Body takes place from 1.45pm – 4pm on Wednesday 4 September 2019 at Cradley Heath Community Centre, Reddal Hill Road, Cradley Heath, B64 5JG.

The Governing Body meets monthly to discuss its progress as a CCG and provide an opportunity for local people to see how health services are developing and improving for the benefit of patients.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is a membership organisation involving 84 GP practices serving around 575,700 patients across the Sandwell and West Birmingham area.

Dr Ian Sykes, Chair of NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG, said:

“We look forward to welcoming patients and the public to our September meeting in Cradley Heath. We hold these meetings in public to offer local people a first-hand opportunity to see how we are working to improve health services in the area.

“It’s important that patients have a much greater say in their healthcare and there are a number of ways that they can do that. Most of our GP practices now have a patient participation group which allows patients to work with the practice to ensure services are meeting the needs of local patients.

“Patients Network Meetings are an open forum of local residents, patients and community groups with an interest in health. It is a place where you can learn more about how we manage resources on behalf of our population.  These networks are organised by our Engagement Team.  Representatives from each of the PPG groups from local GP practices are actively involved in the Patient networks.

“We have also established Patient Summits, which give clinicians in localities access to a wider network of patients, their carers and organisations who advocate on their behalf.”
