Nominations open: put forward your champions for the Equality Awards 2016

Local groups and organisations that make a difference by reducing health inequalities in their community are being urged to enter Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Equality Awards 2016.

The awards are for people who are involved in projects taking place in diverse and vulnerable communities, which ensure people or groups are treated fairly and equally.

Infant mortality stakeholder summit

Sandwell and West Birmingham has one of the highest rates of stillbirths and infant mortality in England. We believe many of these stillbirths and deaths could be prevented. The CCG is calling on all partners to join together to tackle this important issue.

The summit is an opportunity to:

  • Understand from local experts the scale of the challenge
  • Collectively identify opportunities to improve services and outcomes locally
  • Pledge to work together to tackle this priority.

Local health organisation is a finalist for national award

The NHS organisation responsible for planning and buying health services for the residents of Sandwell and West Birmingham is celebrating after being announced as a finalist for a top national award.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)  is one of six CCGs to be named as a finalist for the prestigious Health Service Journal’s Clinical Commissioning Group of the Year award.

August Bank Holiday Pharmacy Opening Times

The August bank holiday falls on Monday 31st August.

Wherever you can, you should always try to pick up repeat prescriptions early when there are bank holiday weekends. This will ensure you won’t run out of your essential medication over the weekend.

Extra chance to have a say on non-emergency patient transport services

People across Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell now have an additional opportunity to discuss proposals to create a new non-emergency patient transport service.

An extra drop-in session has been added to those taking place over the next week to enable patients across the West Midlands to give their views on the proposed new service.

New leader tasked with transformation of health services for local people

The partnership created to deliver high quality care for patients in Sandwell and West Birmingham has a new leader at the helm - Robin Morrison has been appointed as the Independent Chair of the Right Care Right Here Partnership.
