Suzanne Henson, a 26-year-old mum from Wolverhampton, is supporting the launch of a new Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Service in the Black Country, by sharing her experience of perinatal depression.

Women urged to have a smear test as figures reveal over 48,000 not attending in Sandwell and West Birmingham

Over 48,000 women in Sandwell and West Birmingham are putting their lives at risk by not attending their smear test. NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group has issued the plea ahead of Cervical Screening Awareness Week, which takes place from 10-16 June.

Have a greater say on local health services

Patients in Sandwell and West Birmingham are being encouraged to have a greater say in how local health services are being run by joining a Patient Participation Group (PPG) at their local GP practice. PPGs are groups of active volunteer patients working in partnership with practice staff and GPs.

Tipton patient urges Sandwell and West Birmingham residents to be on the pulse to avoid a stroke

Tipton patient Greg Ball was fit and healthy before suffering a stroke last year. Now he is urging Sandwell and West Birmingham residents to be on the pulse ahead of Heart Rhythm Week, which takes place from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 June.
