On Tuesday 1 May, the Black Country Patient Network members all came together for the yearly Patient Summit meeting at the Village Hotel, Dudley.
There were updates on the local and NHS projects from Dr Sykes, Chair of the Black Country LCG. Dr Aslam spoke about a new consultation called Improving Access to Same Day Healthcare Services and Dr Muthuveloe talked about how the NHS is 70 years old on the 5 July. He took the members on a journey of how the NHS started and how it has developed over the years even bringing his own family into the talk.
Members had the opportunity to ask questions to of the GPs and staff in attendance. The finale ended with Pam Jones, Patient Representative thanking the NHS staff for looking after her healthcare needs over the years and saying we have a great health service, which attracted a round of applause from all members.
