Keynote speakers include:

  • Sally Roberts, Chief Nurse, Black Country and West Birmingham Local Maternity System
  • Dr Tilly Pillay, Neonatologist, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust
This aim of the event is to provide a national and local update on the NHS maternity system, promote parent/carer empowerment to reduce the risks for infant mortality and update on public health initiatives such as early stork, antenatal parenting resource, preconception, preparing for pregnancy, smoking peers and champions.

Delegates will have the opportunity to attend five workshops from the following: continuity of care model, birth trauma, holistic therapies, life as a doula, perinatal mental health, supporting families through pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss, maternity voices partnership, home birth, tongue tie & reduced fetal movement.

The conference will also provide an opportunity to share learning, gain information on local maternity care and network with professionals and women with recent experiences of maternity services.

Local women and their families, midwives, current and previous maternity service users, maternity staff and clinicians are all welcome to attend.
